About Mezzalira
Located in a landmark 1920s Melbourne Building on leafy West Row, Mezzalira brings classic Italian charisma to the heart of Canberra’s CBD. Since 1996, Mezzalira has established itself as Canberra’s iconic Italian restaurant; it’s a space for all seasons and reasons from casual catchups at the bar to the business lunch crowd. At night, it is an elegant dining stage, framed by art deco architecture overlooking the city streets; the menu like the space, suits any occasion from aperitivi and snacks to premium wood-fired meat and seafood. Begin with duck liver parfait, pink peppercorn, Moscato gelatina and crostini; moving onto mafaldine pasta with prawns, vongole, chilli nduja and soft herb gremolata. Perhaps delve into veal saltimbocca alla Romana with prosciutto, sage and baked semolina.

Hospitality is not dead! This restaurant excels at offering the diner a great experience. They showed great concern while we waited for a free table. Offering drinks and suggesting starters. Waiters jumped to the door to open it for departing patrons. I enjoyed the great sense of pride and respect for the dishes on offer although a more generous serving of the ingredients described on the menu would have made our experience "Unfaultable". All I can say is "Thank you"!
I enjoyed a very nice seafood meal here recently. The wine list is superb, and the menu is full of great dishes. Service is a bit hit and miss, and the food's not particularly cheap, although three are some good buys on the wine list. It always seems to be busy, and it's quite an elegant place, so worth booking for a special meal.
Food was amazing the canoli were the best I've ever had outside if Italy definitely going back more
Excellent food and service
